MY VOLUNTEER WORK
When I would return home in the summer my first two years of college, I wanted to make sure I was still keeping my creative mind active. My first year back, I was able to volunteer my skills to help create marketing content, digital and print, and collaborate amongst board members for a local organization, Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA). I took this role seriously, as my mom worked full-time as their events coordinator and is a survivor of breast cancer herself.
My second year back I worked with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC). There, I did the same as I did for BCA, where I created marketing content for events they were holding. I again, was able to collaborate with board members and was able to display my work at the events.
While this work was done 3-4 years ago, it is not a reflection of my present work, as I have learned so much more through the rest of my college career, my internship with Kohl's and working full-time as an in-house designer. I am very proud of the volunteer work I was able to create, and honored that I was trusted with these responsibilities while still being a beginner. With the work I created for BCA, we were able to raise over $1500 for a single event, and I aided in raising over $130K by creating flyers and placemats for their annual "Step n' Stride". For NOCC, the event I helped market raised over $500.

A poster I created using Illustrator. I drew this graphic as well as the lettering.

Marketing content I created, using very specific brand guidelines given by the board members.
